You know we love a good birthday party. And, in honor of our pirate collection restocking, we figured this would be the perfect time to put together some tips on how to plan the cutest pirate themed party!

Invitations
First things first, let's get the word out to all the scallywags and buccaneers in your little one's crew! Craft up some treasure map invitations with burnt edges for that authentic pirate feel. Don't forget to include some pirate lingo to get everyone in the spirit! Or, to make things easier, make a cute invitation using a template on a website like Canva or buy one off Etsy!

Decorations
Transform your party space into a pirate's den fit for Blackbeard himself! Deck the halls with black and red streamers, skull and crossbones flags, and scatter some gold coins (chocolate, of course!) around for good measure. You can even create a makeshift pirate ship using cardboard boxes!

Dress code
Encourage all your young mateys to come dressed in their finest pirate attire. Games
No pirate party would be complete without a treasure trove of swashbuckling activities! Set up a treasure hunt with clues leading to hidden loot (think chocolate gold coins and bejeweled trinkets). For some high-energy fun, organize a game of "Walk the Plank'' using a wooden plank laid across a kiddie pool filled with blue fabric to simulate the sea!

Food
After all that pillaging and plundering, your little crew is probably going to be hungry! Make some sandwiches or even order some pizza, pirate-themed cupcakes with edible gold coins on top, and fruit punch!

Party Favors
Send your little buccaneers home with a booty bag filled with loot worthy of a pirate captain! Think eye patches, temporary tattoos, pirate-themed stickers, and perhaps a mini treasure chest filled with chocolate coins and jewels.
